This subject will focus on fundamentals and core elements of service supply chains. The subject will provide an introduction to supply chains in services, outlines differences from product-based supply chains; emphasize understanding of how supply chains interact with people for delivery of services and different approaches for incorporating people, process, and technology; analyse industry-specific service supply chains; discuss innovations in service supply chains; and present emerging and futuristic trends in service supply chains.
Intended learning outcomes
On completion of this subject, students should be able to:
- Evaluate the key elements of service supply chains and their combined impact on outcomes
- Identify the choices concerning the service supply chain performance parameters and their relationships to other supply chain elements
- Evaluate the strategic and operational requirements of service supply chains
- Critically evaluate and implement different approaches to service supply chains
- Identify and evaluate the impacts of service supply chains innovations

After completing this subject, students will be able to:
- Communicate effectively about key ideas and theories
- Identify and critically analyse strategic problems and decisions
- Enhance critical thinking in relation to the effectiveness of solutions
