Students complete a variety of practical composition projects tailored to their individual needs in order to develop and consolidate craft, technique and a compositional aesthetic.
Intended learning outcomes
On completion of this subject:
- students will further develop their own individual working methods and habits, style, language and goals, be introduced to advanced techniques and equipment and be able to work with large-scale and extended musical structures.
Generic skills
On completion of this subject students should have developed:
- the ability to think laterally in relation to concepts and problem-solving;
- the ability to communicate in an abstract medium;
- the ability to take initial creative ideas through to completion, including publication, public presentation and promotion.
