Students complete a variety of practical composition projects tailored to their individual needs in order to further develop and consolidate craft, technique and a compositional aesthetic.
Intended learning outcomes
On completion of this subject:
- students will further develop their own individual working methods and habits, style, language and goals, be introduced to advanced techniques and equipment and be able to work with large scale and extended musical structures.
Generic skills
On completion of this subject students should have developed:
- the ability to think laterally in relation to concepts and problem-solving;
- the ability to communicate in an abstract medium;
- the ability to take initial creative ideas through to completion, including publication, public presentation and promotion.
