Overview
Intended learning outcomes
In addition to the learning outcomes of the Master of Civil Engineering listed, students should:
- have gained knowledge and practice in advanced geotechnical engineering topics which might include offshore geotechnics, energy foundations, tunneling, ground models, design, construction and testing of deep foundations, computational geotechnics including different numerical methods used in design and analysis of geotechnical systems (which contains contents on the integration of structural engineering with geotechnical engineering);
- be able to apply that knowledge to analyse and design geotechnical systems;
- have gained knowledge and practice in civil and geotechnical engineering management including economics, legal liability, intellectual property, ethics and the law as it applies to the civil/structural engineering profession;
- had the opportunity to develop research principles and methods in the field of geotechnical engineering.
