Overview
The specialisation in project management is conceived for students who have an interest in coordinating all aspects of the building procurement process on behalf of clients or within client organisations. Educational focus is placed on the integration of technical dimensions and the ability to understand, foresee, evaluate and control industry contributions to a project.
Intended learning outcomes
- Develop professional and project management competencies and decision-making abilities in the area of expertise;
- Develop skills in understanding, realising and visualising projects and programs from life-cycle project management perspectives;
- Develop conceptual knowledge on broad project management issues and enhance the problem-solving skills required for effective delivery of projects;
- Enhance entrepreneurial capabilities and business leadership for achieving success in projects.

Structure
All students must take:
- 100 credit points of Year 1 core subjects
- 125 credit points of core specialisation subjects including
- 25 credit points of specialisation capstone subjects
- 75 credit points of elective subjects including
- A minimum of 25 credit points of specialisation elective subjects
- A minimum of 50 points of multidisciplinary (Melbourne School of Design and/or university graduate) electives
Students should choose specialisation and multidisciplinary electives in consultation with the course coordinator.
