This capstone subject provides students with a research opportunity that allows investigation of a problem, intervention or issue related to the field. The project is run by a student-led team and is supported by a teaching staff member. Students will develop a research proposal and data analysis plan, write a narrative literature review and perform data collection and analysis of the data/outcomes of the project. Outcomes and findings of the project are presented by students in both written and oral formats.
Intended learning outcomes
On completion of this subject, students should be able to:
- Apply knowledge and skills of audiological practices to investigate a problem, issue or intervention related to the field.
- Critically analyse relevant and current literature to inform and justify the project's aims and approach.
- Analyse and synthesise a range of conceptual and empirical materials to draw defensible conclusions.
- Demonstrate teamwork, project planning/management and leadership skills to investigate a problem, issue or intervention related to the field.
- Articulate outcomes of the problem, issue or intervention in a scholarly manner in both oral and written format.
