    LEARNING AND TEACHING METHODS
    Key learning and teaching methods include:
    Lectures and group discussion of core themes and concepts. These are delivered by academic staff members. Lectures include in-depth discussion of theories and algorithms required for modelling transport systems, ranging from user equilibrium and system optimal models for traffics networks, advanced discrete choice models, and travel demand forecasting models. Lectures and tutorials include teaching and practice of basics of programming skills in Python and SQL at beginner’s level. Two hours of lectures are offered for each week of the academic program.
    Engagement with required and suggested readings and information/programming sources online. Online readings and information sources cover a mixture of textbooks, journal papers, online references and databases, government reports or guidelines, and other textual resources. Students are expected to undertake a minimum 2 hours per week of reading and resource review to support concept acquisition and knowledge contextualisation, and the execution of tutorial exercises.
    Tutorial and tutorial exercises in smaller-group format. This approach includes in-depth presentation and discussion of problems, codes and models, classic Q&A and step-by-step programming exercises. Tutors are primarily drawn from the specialist lecturers tutoring in smaller groups, on specialised topics, with reference to the weekly tutorial exercises. Two hour of tutorial time is available per week of the program.
