Students undertake 22 days of supervised teaching practice and observation in an adult TESOL or Languages setting*. Teaching practice incorporates the following key tasks:
- appropriate presentation and practice of the target language, both spoken and written;
- the design, implementation and evaluation of lessons and units of work for language learners at a variety of language levels;
- the adaptation of existing materials and development of original work to meet student needs and interests;
- the assessment and reporting of students’ language development; and
- the establishment of collaborative relationships with other staff members and the wider school community and self-reflection and critical evaluation of one's own practice.
*This focus, TESOL or Languages, is specific based on the course the student is enrolled in.
It is recommended that Master of TESOL students have an English language proficiency equivalent to IELTS 7.5 (or higher) to undertake this subject, as the adult language learners in the teaching placement setting may be studying for this level. Therefore, TESOL students must be prepared for the possibility that they will be assessed on their ability to teach independently at this level.

Option 1 - 200pt Program
Admission into one of the following: 200pt Program course entry point in the MC-TESOL Master of TESOL, 200pt Program course entry point in the MC-MLED Master of Modern Languages Education
AND
Completion of a minimum of 100 credit points of Master of TESOL or Master of Modern Languages Education, inclusive of
75 credit points of Compulsory subjects
25 credit points of Foundations subjects
AND
Note: the following subject/s can also be taken concurrently (at the same time)
