After completion of this subject, students will have the knowledge to perform and interpret focused second and third trimester ultrasound assessment and will be competent in writing interpretive reports. Students will have interpreted and written a report on 10 online pregnancy ultrasound studies including commonly encountered pathology.

Intended learning outcomes

On completion of this subject, students should be able to:

  • Identify the key steps required to acquire the standard views for focused ultrasound assessment of second and third trimester pregnancy.
  • Interpret and write a structured report of focused ultrasound images for assessment of second and third trimester pregnancy.
  • Evaluate the requirements for training, competence, and certification in focused second and third trimester pregnancy ultrasound.
