The development and presentation of a work in progress and its critical evaluation and discussion with artistic peers. The practical exploration of ideas and concepts for a new work. The development of appropriate work plans, rehearsal processes, methods and resource frameworks.
Intended learning outcomes
On completing this subject students will have:
- ability to conceptualise and develop new work;
- capacity to give form to performance concepts;
- ability to critically evaluate work in progress and respond constructively;
- ability to contextualise personal artistic practice within relevant fields;
- ability to articulate strengths and weaknesses in a new work in progress;
- capacity to develop strategies in response to critical perceptions;
- ability to manage all aspects of a developmental project including resources.
Generic skills
On completing this subject students will have:
• ability to design, create and organise aesthetic material on a closely defined project;
• ability to adopt a flexible approach to problem solving;
• ability to perform and present artistic materials
• application of theory to practice;
• capacity to evaluate and synthesise data and other information within the context of current performance;
