Students negotiate a research project with assistance from an academic supervisor. The student develops a research report which makes use of existing data, artefacts and literature as relevant to their project.
Intended learning outcomes
On completion of this subject, students should be able to:
- Demonstrate a depth of knowledge in an area of contemporary research in education.
- Understand the theoretical context of an issue of concern in education
- Understand the purpose of selected research methodologies
- Use research processes with due regard to ethical procedures
- Demonstrate a capacity to engage in reflective, critical discussion of the area of particular interest

Eligibility and requirements
Prerequisites
An H2A average, or equivalent in:
- 150 points of study in the Master of Teaching (Early Childhood) or Master of Teaching (Secondary) or MC-TEACHSI Master of Teaching (Secondary) Internship; or
- 50 points of study in the Master of Literacy Education or Master of Instructional Leadership; or
- a Masters degree in Education
