Overview
Please note that PD-ARTS Postgraduate Diploma in Arts will no longer be accepting new applications as of the 1st January 2015, the program from 2015 will be offered as GDA-ARTS Graduate Diploma in Arts (Advanced). Please refer to the correct handbook entry for program information for commencing students from 2015.
The Postgraduate Diploma program in Italian Studies comprises advanced coursework and an individual research project designed to extend students’ knowledge and skills in one specific field of Italian Studies (such as Italian linguistics, Italian literacy studies, Italian cultural studies, Italian cinema studies, Italian Renaissance studies and translation studies).
After successfully completing the program, students will have gained considerable practical skills such as research skills, report writing skills, language skills and international and cultural awareness.
Intended learning outcomes
Students who complete the Postgraduate Diploma in Arts in this area of specialisation should:
- receive rigorous intellectual training which may enable them to undertake further postgraduate studies;
- achieve a high level of linguistic competency (written and spoken Italian) in a variety of registers;
- consolidate and specialise in areas of Italian studies of particular interest.
