Intended learning outcomes
Students who complete the Postgraduate Diploma in Arts in this area of specialisation should:
- discuss a wide range of current issues in Japanese;
- appreciate language styles and major points of selected readings in Japanese;
- demonstrate an understanding of Japan and contemporary Japanese society;
- write a thesis of 15,000 words, comparable with that appropriate to an Honours degree.

The Postgraduate Diploma in Arts in this area of specialisation requires:
- thesis subject (50 points)
- three compulsory subjects (37.5 points)
- one elective subjects (12.5 points)
