The aim of this subject is to provide students with an opportunity to develop a research proposal and aligned ethics application for an area of study of their choice. The subject enables students to work independently in the development of a proposal for a minor thesis. Students will develop a working knowledge of human research ethics relevant to surgical research. Students are also expected to engage in a peer review process to develop competencies associated with scholarship and professionalism.

- Develop a research proposal appropriate for a minor thesis
- Complete a human research ethics application for the proposal
- Establish a project management plan for the proposed research proposal
