This subject is an extension of the practical skills taught in Performing Arts Practice 2B (SM) Performing Arts Practice 3 (SM) is the subject where creative and technical knowledge and experience gained over the previous two years is tested and consolidated in a practical performance environment. The students will be assigned to at least 2 senior management positions during the year in a variety of performance projects. They will be expected to take on the leadership role required to manage these projects and to document the processes within the professional standard indicated.
Intended learning outcomes
This subject will give the student a practical understanding of the role of a Stage Manager and/or Production Manager in live performance. They should have a strong familiarity with the appropriate paperwork, communication systems and procedures required to create a prompt copy or equivalent. Students should also have demonstrated advanced leadership skills through both peer and self-learning.
Generic skills
At the end of this subject the students should be able to:
• Display extensive theoretical and practical knowledge of their discipline including relevant professional knowledge, skills, discipline and ethics as they relate to practicing capacities for visual/performing artist.
• Demonstrate practical skills in respect of critical analysis, problem solving, report writing, team work and oral and written communication.
• Work at various levels both as an individual and as a team member, in a wide variety of performing artistic environments.
• Contribute to a range of performing arts environments as artistic collaborators and leaders.
• Apply industry standard Risk management skills.

Presentation of a Prompt Copy and Self-assessment report (10,000 words or equivalent for the total number of projects). At the conclusion of the project/s. 60%

Peer Assessment
Complete all forms of the peer assessment process as required. At the conclusion of the project. Hurdle requirement.
Hurdle requirements
Students must attend 80% of all scheduled classes and attempt all elements of assessment to be eligible for a pass in this subject.
