This capstone subject brings Music Studies students together to plan, develop and present a creative plan and grant proposal. Through workshops, guided group sessions, and in-class discussions, students learn to work collaboratively by developing and refining their creative vision for a performing arts project.
The capstone experience culminates in a project plan, comprising an overview and strategy for practical implementation, and a grant proposal, which includes a financial plan and case for support.
Intended learning outcomes
On completion of this subject students should be able to:
- propose and develop a concept for a performing arts project;
- apply industry-standard management principles to a project plan and simulated grant proposal;
- work collaboratively and constructively within a team to foster creativity and generate innovative solutions;
- critically reflect and self-assess contributions to a group creative planning process.
Generic skills
On completion of this subject students should be able to:
- communicate effectively, in oral, written and digital forms;
- communicate constructively in different social situations;
- develop innovative and creative ideas;
- give and receive constructive feedback;
- work as part of a team to achieve a common goal;
- manage competing demands on time, including self-directed project work;
- sustain medium and long-term work strategies in pursuit of personal goals.
