Eligibility and requirements
Prerequisites
The student must be admitted to a graduate research course and be actively enrolled in their thesis subject, or under examination.
Completion of Research Integrity online training (RIOT)
Approval to participate in the internship program from the Graduate Research Internships team and the Principal Supervisor
Completion of a student deed, as part of an Intern Agreement signed by the University and the host organisation

Inherent requirements (core participation requirements)
Participation in a graduate research internship of at least 60 full-time equivalent (FTE) days over no less than 3 months. An FTE day is 7.6 hours, or the number of hours typical for a full‐time day in the host organisation.
The internship must consist of research and development activity that is broadly related to the candidate’s area of research. To be related to the candidate’s area of research the internship must make use of or contribute to their research skills or their discipline knowledge.
