This two-part subject provides students with the opportunity to learn the essential skills needed to undertake research. In addition, students will gain first-hand experience in experimental design, and in data collection, analysis, and presentation. Students will undertake a literature review, a research report and an oral presentation.
This subject must be taken in conjunction with DENT90110 Research Project B in consecutive years.
Intended learning outcomes
On completion of this subject, students should be able to:
- Conduct research in biomedical, dental and health sciences.
- Design experiments.
- Prepare and give oral and written presentation of the results.
- Express intellectual, scientific arguments; and
- Assimilate and critically evaluate existing knowledge within a scientific paradigm.
