This subject is focused on the leadership that creates the environment to support quality teaching and learning. Elements explored will include local and global purposes of education, organisational culture, leadership for learning, evidence-based teaching and learning practices, future trends in schooling and leadership, and supporting teachers to develop their expertise throughout their careers.
Intended learning outcomes
On completion of this subject, students should be able to:
- Critically evaluate and apply the main concepts in leadership for learning
- Examine the key components of effective professional learning and teacher expertise development
- Critically evaluate and apply the educational program of an organisation
- Apply complex problem-solving to issues in leadership for learning.
