Intended learning outcomes

Students who complete the Graduate Diploma (Chemistry Specialisation) should be able to:

• Demonstrate an independent approach to chemical knowledge that uses rigorous methods of inquiry and appropriate theories and methodologies that are applied with intellectual honesty and a respect for ethical values;
• Apply critical and analytical skills and methods to the identification and resolution of chemical problems;
• Act and communicate as informed and critically discriminating participants within the community of chemistry scholars, as citizens and in the work force;
• Demonstrate proficiency in the use of appropriate instrumentation and technologies for the acquisition, processing, interpretation and modelling of data;
• Demonstrate expertise in the experimental investigation and solution of qualitative and quantitative problems in the chemical sciences, both individually and in teams.
